| Q |
How a Mosaic is Made? |
| A |
Our marble mosaic products are created using natural stones (natural colors) and every single piece is hand-cut. Among some of the countries that we receive different colored stones are Brazil, Italy, Turkey, Spain, and India. The stones are cut by our skilled, trained artists using pincers and all the work is hand-crafted. The artist glues every single stone she/he cuts to a mesh background and create the image she/he wants. The method our artists use is the method that was used in the ancient times. (one of the method, direct method) The bigger the final marble mosaic product is, the more details can be shown. This is especially important in creating works that include faces and small details. |

Is there any specific or minimum size in the mosaics? Customers are always advised about the size of the mosaic. It depends on the design but the idea is to have a mosaic big enough to show the details of that design.
What kind of variations is there in the mosaics?

Variations in the surface of Marble Mosaics
Flat Surface:
These mosaics have a flat surface. Natural stone strips are cut only from two sides and the flat side stays on the surface. It is generally used for mosaics that are going to be used as a tile. Thin set and grout should also be used for this purpose. They can be cleaned anytime like other tiles. They may be polished after grouting. However, it may be better if it stays in its natural condition after grouting. These mosaics can also be used in (or on) the wall without grout. Once these mosaics are installed, sealers or other similar materials can also be used to make it look shiny.

Rough Surface: |
| A |
Both sides of the strips and the side that comes to surface are all cut in this type of mosaic. It is also called Split face stone mosaic. It looks more natural. It is generally used in wall applications. It may not be a good idea to use it as a tile since it is not flat. Since it has a flat surface, it does not need grout on it. Once these mosaics are installed, sealers or other similar materials can also be used to make it look shiny
Variations in the Application of Marble Mosaics
Mosaics that will be installed in (or on) the wall:
As mentioned, there are two types of surfaces, and these are flat and rough surfaces. For orders that will be installed in (or on) the wall, we always suggest the rough surface, However, some customers (minority) like flat surfaces more. |

Mosaics that will be installed as a tile: |
| A |
Depending on the floor, the dimensions and the shape should be discussed with the customer depending on the characteristics of the floor that mosaics will be installed. The customers should be invited to the showroom if it is possible. Also, some of our reference works should be presented to the customer to give a better idea about how mosaics look once they are installed.
For the customers who are interested in using mosaics as tiling materials, we can offer to renovate the whole floor using our products. If they have their custom design or an interior designer working on it, we can just sell the mosaics and deliver on mesh to make it easier for them to install it. They can take care of the installation. Installing marble mosaics for tiling purposes is easier than installing tiles, and the process is very similar. They can be installed like tiles and suitable thin set and grouting can be used. If any stones fall down during delivery or installation, they can easily be glued back. Once they are installed, no such problem should occur. |
